ServiceNow Developer/Administrator
DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a ServiceNow Developer/Administrator for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Description:
You will support the ongoing operation, stability, and enhancement of a large-scale enterprise ServiceNow environment. This role plays a key part in a mission-driven team delivering digital modernization efforts within a regulated sector.
The position emphasizes ownership of platform health and reliability—maintaining high availability standards, leading upgrade initiatives, and supporting operational continuity while also contributing to iterative development efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
System Operations & Monitoring
- Oversee daily platform performance, ensuring system reliability and availability.
- Monitor core components such as MID Servers, scheduled processes, and data imports to confirm proper functionality.
Platform Upgrades & Lifecycle Management
- Lead the planning and execution of platform upgrades and patches.
- Responsibilities include impact assessment, environment cloning, testing coordination, and validation following deployments.
Administrative Management
- Maintain user roles, permissions, and group structures.
- Ensure data quality and integrity within the CMDB and manage Service Catalog configurations, including associated workflows and request fulfillment logic.
Development & Configuration
- Design, build, and maintain platform components such as Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.
- Diagnose and resolve platform-related issues affecting performance or functionality.
Security & Governance
- Implement and manage security controls, including ACLs and role-based access.
- Knowledge of regulated environments and compliance frameworks is advantageous.
Analytics & Reporting
- Develop reports and dashboards to track operational metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders through Performance Analytics and other reporting tools.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, upgrade procedures, and user-facing knowledge resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow administration and development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and standard web technologies (HTML/CSS)
- Experience participating in or leading multiple ServiceNow version upgrades
- Eligibility to work in the United States (citizenship or permanent residency required)
- Willingness to work on-site full-time at a designated office location
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in secure or compliance-driven environments (e.g., government cloud frameworks)
- Familiarity with ITIL v4 principles and service management practices
- Relevant ServiceNow certifications, including Certified System Administrator (CSA); additional certifications such as Certified Application Developer (CAD) or upgrade-focused credentials are a plus
