DataStaff is seeking an experienced Senior Software Validation & Test Engineer to support a fast-paced enterprise technology initiative for our client in Raleigh, NC.
This is an on-site, hands-on individual contributor role focused on validating end-to-end business processes, system integrations, workflows, and data integrity across a complex ecosystem of enterprise, cloud, and customer-facing applications.
The ideal candidate has direct experience performing software verification and validation across multiple integrated systems and can independently plan, execute, document, and report validation activities. This is not a pure test automation position. Candidates should be prepared to contribute immediately with minimal onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate end-to-end data flow, data integrity, business processes, and application workflows across multiple interconnected systems.
• Perform validation involving technologies and platforms such as Salesforce, SAP, AWS/cloud services, enterprise applications, customer portals, and connected software solutions.
• Create verification and validation documentation in accordance with established quality procedures.
• Develop and maintain traceability among business and system requirements, risks, test cases, defects, and validation evidence.
• Plan and execute validation protocols and document results.
• Identify, investigate, and document defects involving interconnected applications and data exchanges.
• Validate front-end portal workflows as part of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and formal validation activities.
• Verify that information transferred between systems remains complete, accurate, and consistent throughout the end-to-end business process.
• Work closely with software development, enterprise applications, cloud, portal, cybersecurity, and quality teams.
• Assemble and maintain supporting validation evidence and documentation.
• Clearly communicate testing results, defects, risks, and validation status to technical and business stakeholders.
• Perform additional validation and testing responsibilities based on project needs.

• End-to-end software verification and validation.
• Testing business processes and workflows spanning multiple integrated systems.
• Validating data flow and data integrity between enterprise applications.
• Enterprise application and integration testing.
• User-facing application and portal validation.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Defect identification, documentation, investigation, and tracking.
• Requirements-based testing and traceability.
• Working independently in a hands-on validation/testing role.
• Creating formal testing and validation documentation.

Candidates must be capable of independently planning and executing validation activities rather than relying on a test lead or manager to define individual testing activities.

Candidates do not necessarily need to be developers for these technologies; however, they should understand how to validate business processes, integrations, workflows, and data as information moves between these systems.

Regulated Environment Experience

Experience working within a regulated or highly quality-driven environment is strongly preferred. Relevant backgrounds may include:

• Medical devices
• Healthcare technology
• Life sciences
• Pharmaceutical environments
• Other regulated industries requiring formal software verification, validation, traceability, and documented testing evidence

Candidates with experience working under formal quality systems and established validation procedures will be particularly relevant.
