Senior Business Analyst
DataStaff Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Richmond, VA.

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a technical background to support software development IT Projects at the client using a mix of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid Methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all tasks related to business analysis, including problem/opportunity identification, elicitation of requirements, and management of stakeholders to meet business and project objectives.
- Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
- Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
- Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Facilitate collaboration and knowledge transfer between stakeholders and the development team
- Work with other BSAs, Data Analysts, Business Architect, Development, and Data Governance teams to ensure the needs of these partners are incorporated into project requirements.
- Develop user acceptance tests and facilitate their execution and business validation discussions and meetings.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for leading, collaborating, and building strong team relationships with diverse teams on large projects
- Extensive experience leading business and IT resources through the discovery and documentation of business and technical requirements
- Ability to lead others to implement new approaches, systems, structures, and methods
- Strong experience in developing, executing, and managing cloud-hosted SaaS implementation projects.
- Experience with automated requirements/development management tools
- Ability to analyze and document system processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to simplify and communicate complex issues and technical concepts to multiple audiences.
- Knowledge of both Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management practices and when to apply each according to organizational and project needs
- Ability to build & provide meaningful project health information and insights to business & IT Leadership.
- Ability to accurately and effectively represent the project team in multiple forums and to all levels of leadership.
- Ability to exercise and act on independent judgment

- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
- Experience with Data Modernization & Enterprise Data Warehouse. (Preferred)
- PMP Certification through PMI or Qualified under Commonwealth of Virginia Qualification Standards (Preferred)
- Experience with VITA’s Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) system and ECOS process (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (Preferred)
Required Skills:
- 4 Years - Strong experience in developing, executing, and managing cloud-hosted SaaS implementation projects
- 5 Years - Knowledge of both Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management practices and when to apply each according to organizational and project needs.
- 5 Years - Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
- 4 Years - Experience with automated requirements/development management tools.
- 4 Years - Proficient in writing user stories.
Desired Skills:
- 3 Years - Technical background
- 3 Years - Experience in healthcare projects
- 2 Years - AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- 3 Years - Knowledge of JIRA or Azure DevOps tools
