DataStaff, Inc is seeking a Senior AWS Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a senior AWS Developer with 10-15 years of software development experience. This role involves close collaboration with the data modernization teams at ITD and DPH to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies
- Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the technical team on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Develop, test, debug and deliver within timeline using best tools and best practices available.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.
- Designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
- Identifies architectural risks and plans to mitigate risks
- Ensures adherence to standards and best practices
- Influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior ITD and business stakeholders.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Extensive experience in developing/ building AWS Data Lake formation, contributing extensively to design, development and writing code.
- Experience in modernizing legacy applications, which should include refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment.
- Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.
- Must have experience in Data Ingestion & Storage, Data Processing & Transformation and working with AWS Machine Language using appropriate AWS services.
- Experience in customizing AWS ETL logic using Python code.
- Knowledgeable and experience in security and data governance covering areas such as fine-grained permissions, managing user and service permissions, data encryption, auditing, and compliance.
- Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Python scripting, and any prior experience in Object oriented languages is a plus.
- Experience working with any transactional or RDMS databases
- Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, Iac, automation, building CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging.
- Knowledge / experience using any ETL tools, experience with data analytics using PowerBI or AWS QuickSight etc. is plus.
- Must have experience/familiar with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.
Required Skills:
- 7 Years - Proficient in using various AWS services (e.g., VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena) to build and manage cloud
- 7 Years - Data Processing & Transformation: AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, EMR, Athena, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, AWS Step Functions, AWS SageMaker
- 7 Years - Data Ingestion & storage: S3, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehouse, DMS
- 7 Years - Experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.
- 7 Years - Knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems
- 7 Years - Experience working with creating AWS ETL jobs, data pipelines with high volumes of data
- 7 Years - Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools
- 7 Years - Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java - strong Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework & hibernate technology.
- 7 Years - Experience with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.
- 7 Years - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
- 2 Years - Experience with data analytics, business intelligence solutions (like Power BI or AWS QuickSight )
- 1 Year - AWS Certification
- 2 Years - State Government experience
