Project Manager (Part-time)
DataStaff, Inc is seeking a Part-Time Project Manager for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Richmond, VA.
* The role is part-time and hybrid with on-site expected once a week
Responsibilities:
- Provide project management oversight for the design, configuration, staff training and implementation of client’s replacement licensing and management system and to provide internal support
- Project management activities include but are not limited to; leading team members through process mapping and requirements gathering, serving as the day-to-day point of contact for the project and overseeing the various system implementation phases and processes, overseeing acceptable user acceptance testing, certifying that the solution is ready for deployment and is fully implemented as planned.
- Will also be responsible for change management, overall vendor management and project closeout.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong management and leadership skills
- The ability to set and maintain adherence to project goals with internal team and IT vendor, maintain project timeframes, budgeting estimates and status reports for executive management and the board, coordinating project team members and developing and tracking schedules and individual responsibilities, implementing IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) required with
- Demonstrated experience in effective team building
- Communication skills, knowledge and experience in successfully executing Software as a Service (SaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) implementation with strong vendor management skills
- Experience assisting Commonwealth of Virginia agencies in planning, developing, and validating functional and technical requirements to support the implementation of IT solutions,
- Knowledge of current Commonwealth of Virginia policies, standards, procedures, and practices, particularly those related to VITA.
Required Skills:
- 10 Years - Cloud & SaaS Expertise: Strong background in planning, executing, and managing cloud-hosted SaaS implementation projects.
- 10 Years - Analytical & Organizational Expertise: Strong ability to analyze complex problems, organize priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- 10 Years - Leadership & Change Management: Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams and drive adoption of new approaches, systems, and methodologies.
- 10 Years - Requirements Management: Extensive experience guiding business and IT stakeholders through discovery and documentation of business and technical requirements.
- 10 Years - Project Management Methodologies: Deep knowledge of Agile and Waterfall principles, with hands-on experience running Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall projects.
- 10 Years - Vendor Management: Skilled in collaborating with vendors and overseeing the successful implementation of vendor solutions.
- 10 Years - Certifications: Active PMP® certification from PMI.
