Programmer Analyst
DataStaff is in immediate need of a Programmer Analyst for one of our direct clients for a contract-to-hire opportunity.
NOTE: This is a remote position to work EST time zone
The Analyst/Developer is responsible for software analysis and development in support of projects and initiatives within the team. They will collaborate with the BioPharma Services team, clinical informatics, bioinformatics, IT group members, and other stakeholders to create and refine system integrations and API calls between laboratory software, order management software, and specimen tracking software. The Analyst/Developer will assist with project planning and development alongside members of the team. They will also assist with any and all department work that needs to be completed or that their supervisor requests of them.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new technology stack implementation for existing clinical products.
- Responsible for quality control of their software changes in JIRA and JAMA
- Develop innovative solutions to user requirements, both planned and emergent.
- Communicate with internal and external clients to gather product requirements and verify implemented changes.
- Assist with the planning and design of system specifications encompassing gathered requirements.
- Contribute to documentation for new systems while managing/updating documentation for existing systems.
- Test, debug, and maintain internal systems.
- Assist with application releases; coordinating build, deploy, and publication of release notes.
- Provide operational support for end users.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 Years – Full-time experience or an equivalent.
- Proficiency in API and web development technologies such as: REST APIs, JSON, XML, Java, and Kafka.
- Experience working within software development life cycles.
- Understanding of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, and object-relational mappings (ORMs)
- Experience with source code management and ticketing systems.
- Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of 21 CFR part 11, CLIA, and HIPAA.
- Software engineering experience in either bioinformatics or supporting the life sciences in a regulated environment.
- Previous experience interfacing with eLab Inventory, laboratory information management systems(LIMS), or integrating Off the Shelf software systems using vendor APIs
