Power BI Developer
DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a Power BI Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA
*This position is hybrid; candidate will be required to work onsite 1 day/week
Job Description:
Responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI solutions for the Agency, as well as working with other developers to create and maintain application code and data needed to operate Power Platform leveraging best standards and practices. To also work with business users and the Pro Code team to create effective, collaborative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage the power of Power Platform to deliver low-code and no-code solutions using AGILE practices for rapid development of solutions that empower business users
- Advise the team on best standards and practices and make recommendations to enhance performance and scalability of applications
- Work with business analysts to gather customer requirements and identify the correct tools within Power Platform to meet those requirements
- Keeping up with industry trends and technology developments within Power Platform
- Mentor team members and potential citizen developers in proper use of Power Platform according to Agency standards and practices
- Participate and assist in Administration of secure implementation of Power Platform solutions, showing an understanding of how to secure SharePoint, model-driven and canvas Power Apps, Power Pages, and Dataverse according to industry best standards and practices and Agency guidelines
- Create and maintain reliable, reusable custom components and custom connectors
- Assist in designing scalable, performant architectures
- Create technical documentation of systems to support development and testing of solutions
- Extensive experience with Power BI and SQL is required. This developer will be mainly developing visualization in Power BI.
Required Skills:
- 5 Years - Extensive Power BI experience creating visualizations for customers
- 5 Years - Extensive DAX experience
- 10 Years - Advanced SQL Skills
- 5 Years - Ability to design and model databases to support Power Platform applications
- 5 Years - Demonstrated ability to create and leverage custom components to promote reliable, reusable structures
- 5 Years - Ability to work with testing teams to create automated and unit tests, and provide test data and support to quality assurance teams
- 5 Years - Experience with Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Business Process Flows, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Forms, Power Pages, Power BI
