E-Waste Engineer
DataStaff, Inc is seeking an E-Waste Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the hardware validation spreadsheet.
- Follow the decommissioning process as per training:
- Remove equipment from the network and disconnect all associated items.
- Update asset management tools with the necessary hardware details.
- Physically remove hardware, cables, and components.
- Store items in the designated area awaiting vendor pickup.
- Coordinate with the vendor on the pickup day to ensure all e-waste is properly accounted for and removed.
- Organize and document the equipment inventory based on JIRA and ServiceNow tickets.
- Collaborate with the onsite team to address any needs or requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in data centers, particularly with hardware decommissioning, e-waste management, and computer operations.
- Basic experience with Red Hat Linux or Unix.
- Degree or certificate in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, squat, and bend, with the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Self-motivated and proactive with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to quickly learn and understand technical concepts.
- Detail-oriented, thorough in following procedures, and able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
