Data Services Administrator
DataStaff, Inc. is in need of a Data Services Administrator for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Charlotte, NC.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Innovation and Technology Department seeks a Data Services Administrator to drive excellence by turning data into meaningful and actionable information. The purpose of this position is to leverage and enhance established enterprise software applications and infrastructure to support Business Intelligence. This is accomplished by using existing infrastructures; utilizing software tools; assisting with solution deployments; analyzing and translating business requirements; serving as a point of contact for technical support; coordinating resolution of incidents and service requests; ensuring compliance with government regulations; and cooperating with end users to ensure systems are operating appropriately. The ability to think strategically and execute with attention to detail is integral. Responsible for designing, maintaining, and administering data warehousing solutions, including administering databased writing and execution of complex reports and building and maintaining interfaces/integrations. Additional responsibilities may include Business Intelligence enterprise systems, training, and server administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide data warehouse and data support services to support projects/initiatives, including instruction and training, consulting, and analytical services.
- Serve as data architect by constructing conceptual data schema models, validating data requirements, and creating data file specifications.
- Profiling data to uncover necessary cleansing rules and business keys and building data transformation rules to ensure new data integrates with existing data.
- Leverage various Business Intelligence enterprise systems and software such as Boomi, WhereScape, and Tableau
- Provide reporting solutions and work with partners to ensure and resolve server systems.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and practices to adhere to and advance the organization's data program.
- Translate and document business processes and requirements for data reporting, analysis, and visualization projects for internal and external Aviation stakeholders.
- Conduct ongoing oversight of assigned data to ensure accessibility and integrity essential to airport operations.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to support Aviation Department's strategic goals and objectives.
- Leverage various Business Intelligence enterprise systems and software, customizing to Airport strategy and performance management needs by: ensuring systems meet business requirements; evaluating industry specific models; assessing additional modules and programs; performing data modeling; collaborating with vendors; and coordinating with appropriate divisions on administration of servers and tools.
- Provide subject matter expert support by conducting and attending meetings with internal and external Airport partners; collaborating with other personnel to determine appropriate solutions; coordinating vendor support; consulting on business processes and system use; communicating with customers; and implementing strategies to remediate situations.
- Perform as-needed Business Intelligence technology solution project management, serving as liaison on hardware installations such as server, upgrades, and training of Aviation staff and users.
- Provide end-user support for customers using data program products.
- Work with divisional, departmental, and enterprise partners as well as other government agencies to identify opportunities and processes for collaboration and problem solving.
- Coordinate, design, develop, and implement data warehouse solutions using a variety of tools and techniques (e.g., Services, Integration Services WhereScape and Boomi, and .NET).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with three (3) or more years of experience in data warehousing, geospatial analysis, database and server administration, SQL, and various programming languages

An equivalent combination of education and relevant work/industry/military/job specific experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential job duties

Knowledge of:
- Data warehouse practices, methodologies, and governance
- Multiple data and/or database platforms
- Servers, server-based products, network, and security protocols
- Scripting and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of and experience with project management techniques. Ability to manage projects, complete projects accurately and on schedule, and coordinate work with other groups.
