Project Manager – Software
DataStaff, Inc is seeking a Software Project Manager for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze current PM methodologies and implement changes to increase speed and quality of delivery
- Transform business and technical requirements into project scope and statement of work that supports strategic, and customer satisfaction goals
- Lead the team to prioritize signed off project work based on analysis of strategic importance, tasks outstanding, obstacles or barriers, budgets, resources and deadlines
- Manage the stakeholder sand team members, to design a solution and establish associated project timelines and budgets that allow for the delivery of the most strategic functionality within the project constraints
- Manage multiple concurrent IT projects of various sizes, from start to finish
- Be an agent of change and a source of positive influence
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget and meet/or exceed business outcomes
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of IT project management experience
- PMP certification required
- Demonstrated ability to use the principles and practices of project and program management
- Agile Methodology experience preferred
- ITIL, Six sigma or Six Sigma Lean training or certification preferred.
- An exciting portfolio of software and services implementations and other IT projects
- A strong belief that project management structures deliver exceptional value
- The ability to receive, offer and process critical feedback in a positive way, and to explain or defend work when appropriate
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Sharp, energetic, assertive, results-oriented and able to shift gears when needed in a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to present ideas, collaborate effectively and influence at all levels of the organization
- Creativity and flexibility in analytical skills to facilitate
