Field IT Support Technician
DataStaff is seeking a Field IT Support Technician for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Little Rock, AR.
*This position is onsite
* Statewide Travel required (average 2 days per week)
Responsibilities:
- Lifecycle Management: Track and manage IT hardware and software assets from initial acquisition through active maintenance to secure decommissioning.
- Software Asset Management: Monitor software license utilization, enforce license request compliance, prevent over-licensing, and manage vendor audit defenses.
- Inventory Control: Maintain the IT Asset Management database (AMDB/CMDB) to ensure accurate, real-time inventory tracking across remote and on-premise teams.
- Procurement & Vendor Relations: Partner with Fiscal and procurement teams to review contracts, renewals, purchases, and negotiate pricing for enterprise software and hardware.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce ITAM policies, approval protocols, and automated asset tracking workflows.
- Ticketing & Documentation: Manage support requests and document system configurations using an online ticketing and documentation portal.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate recurring reports on asset utilization, operational costs, compliance risks, and lifecycle refresh cycles.
- End-User Support: Support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices (Windows, iOS, Android) across multiple field offices.
- Field Assistance: Serve as the "eyes and ears" in the field, providing on-site technical leadership and troubleshooting imaging or LAN connectivity issues
Travel Requirements:
This role requires regular travel to offices statewide (average 2 days per week) with and without personnel using company vehicle. No travel reimbursement necessary. Valid Driver’s License and Insurance required.
Knowledge, Experience and Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
- CompTIA A+, CSAM, CHAMP, ITIL v4, or similar IT certifications
- Experience with Freshservice ITSM/ITAM
- NinjaOne RMM
- Google Workspace administration experience
- Experience in government or conservation organizations
- Windows 11 operating systems
- Active Directory administration
- iOS and Android mobile device management tools
- Network monitoring and discovery tools
- Antivirus and security software and tools
- Remote monitoring and management support tools
- Takes ownership of their work
- Demonstrates problem-solving initiative

Required Skills:
- 3 Years - IT Asset Management
- 3 Years - ITSM/ITAM tool administration
- 3 Years - Helpdesk or Field Technician Support
- 3 Years - Software installation and maintenance
- 3 Years - End-User Hardware Support (laptops, desktops, mobile devices)
- A+/CSAM/CHAMP/ITIL related certification
