DataStaff, Inc is in need of an Infrastructure Solutions Architect for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in the Richmond, VA area.
*This position is hybrid; 3 days per week will be onsite.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement enterprise and AI enabled technology solutions that enhance academic, research, and administrative operations with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven solutions.
Support client’s mission by integrating AI technologies into teaching, learning, student success, and institutional efficiency initiatives.
Designing enterprise and AI solution architectures
Support student success and learning analytics initiatives
Integrating AI and enterprise systems (LMS, SIS, ERP)
Collaborating with faculty and research teams on AI-enabled solutions
Ensuring compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and institutional policies
Promoting ethical and responsible use of AI technologies
Knowledge and Experience:
10+ years of progressive IT experience
5+ years of solutions architecture and/or AI solution development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years in process automation design and development.
Experience in higher education or public-sector IT
Proficient in AI/ML frameworks (ex: TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Cloud, architecture, or AI certifications (ex: AWS, Azure, TOGAF)
Required Skills:
10 Years - Experience in IT roles, including solution design and platform management.
5 Years - Experience in AI solution development and enterprise or solution architecture
5 Years - Strong ability to engage business and technical teams in AI solution initiatives.
Desired Skills:
5 Years - Understanding of higher education systems (LMS, SIS, ERP) and AI data privacy requirements.
5 Years - Ability to interpret complex compliance requirements for AI and apply them to academic and administrative solutions.
5 Years - Experience with technology solutions architecture in higher education or regulated environments preferred.

* The selected candidate will need to be onsite 3 days/week.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of complex, large-scale, high-priority projects throughout the project lifecycle to ensure it is completed on time, within scope, and within budget
Define, document, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget
Develop, maintain, and distribute standard project management artifacts (i.e., WBS, risk assessments, project charter, RACIs, communication plan, MS schedule, status reports, etc.)
Ensure applicable project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule throughout the project lifecycle
Align project deliverables and milestones with projects strategy and objectives
Facilitate project meetings, create and distribute meeting notes
Manage project within the PMO framework, process, and structure
Manage projects within procurement and project management governance processes as directed by the Project Management Office.
Keep leadership and key stakeholders informed of issues that may impact project completion, budget, or results
Facilitate project conference calls, status meetings, and planning sessions, and provide meeting notes
Be a consultant to customers and communicate project status throughout the project lifecycle
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues
Certified Scrum Master, Product Owner, and ITIM certifications are a plus.
Required Skills:
5 Years - Current Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
5 Years - Direct hands-on technical project management experience
5 Years - Project management experience working on a Virginia state level technology project
5 Years - VITA PM Certification or the ability to obtain the VITA PM Certification within 3 months of hire is a requirement
