DataStaff, Inc. is in need of a Network/Telecom Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Raleigh, NC.
*This position is 100% onsite * Night shift schedule (6pm-2am) Monday – Friday
Responsibilities:
Monitoring the statewide Emergency Services IP Network (ESInet) and NG911 systems 24/7 to identify outages, alarms, or performance issues.
Acting as the first point of contact for PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points) reporting technical problems or service interruptions.
Receiving, triaging, documenting, and tracking support tickets through resolution.
Troubleshooting network, telecom, and connectivity issues affecting 911 operations.
Communicating with:
911 Directors and Supervisors
Telecommunications carriers
Service providers
Internal Board and AT&T Tiger Team regarding outages, maintenance, and incident response.
Escalating complex incidents to Tier II and Tiger Team technicians, or additional vendors and carriers when needed.
Maintaining documentation, ticket narration, and operational logs in Salesforce.
Supporting operational continuity during emergencies, severe weather events, and disaster response situations.
Monitoring network security, system health, and telecommunications performance across PSAPs statewide.
Coordinating reroutes or alternate communications paths during outages or call surges to maintain uninterrupted 911 service.
Providing customer-service-focused support to PSAP personnel throughout North Carolina.

The position supports mission-critical emergency communications infrastructure for the state.
Required Skills:
3 Years - Excellent understanding of technologies, operating systems, networking, anti-virus, back-ups, systems firewalls, and switches.
3 Years - Knowledge regarding at least one of the following vendor products: - Juniper, VMWare, Microsoft, Cisco
3 Years - Strong writing skills to maintain organized documentation
3 Years - Knowledge of network cabling, network classification and network topology
Desired Skills:
3 Years - Experience with VOIP technologies is a plus
3 Years - Experience in a NOC environment is preferred

Job Description: The IT Department is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Infrastructure Administrator to support Windows-based operating systems, data center operations, and third-party software platforms. This role works collaboratively with other administrators and IT leadership to provide back-end systems and application support for high-demand, mission-critical, and complex business applications. Duties and Responsibilities
Install, configure, and manage data center infrastructure components, including Windows Server environments, SAN, NAS, and operating systems.
Perform capacity planning and performance analysis; assist with future infrastructure planning.
Support data center technologies such as Dell VxRail, VMware ESXi, and VMware vCenter.
Administer Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy.
Manage backup and disaster recovery systems.
Support cloud solutions including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Maintain enterprise network, server, and log monitoring systems.
Coordinate with third-party vendors for network and data center solutions.
Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting support.
Research emerging infrastructure technologies and best practices.
Implement complex infrastructure initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability.
Develop tools and documentation including diagrams and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of infrastructure maintenance, backups, and monitoring.
Advanced troubleshooting skills for hardware and software.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of four years of experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage, data center technologies, and enterprise networking.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
1–2 years of experience implementing cloud solutions.
Certifications in VMware, Cisco, Dell, Microsoft, Storage, or ITIL.
Other Information
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license
Additional Requirements: Participation in an on-call rotation and support during scheduled weekend maintenance windows as needed.
Reporting Structure: This position operates under the general supervision of the Director of Information Technology.
